Apple Stores lacking of iPhones - A new iPhone coming ?

Friday, April 4th, 2008

Many Apple stores in U.S. already don’t have iPhones on their stock so this can strongly suggest that a new iPhone is coming on its way. The most interesting feature wanted to be embedded in the iPhone is 3G capabilities which would makeĀ  surfing the Internet outside the wi fi coverage much better. We shall wait and see.

iPhone might open new doors for mobile producers

Friday, May 18th, 2007

The hype around iPhone might become the next wave for other mobile producers says an article on Reuters. Big mobile phone producers such as Nokia and Sony Ericsson might come with more interesting mobile phones after the iPhone. Less than a year ago the market was little prepared for all-in-one mobile phones. The trend in the last phones shows an increasing growth of the consumer’s appetite for more intelligent phones, with complex OS and big screen preferably with touch screen technology. With a price tag of $500 and $600 the iPhone seems to be a little bit expensive but nobody thought that a hundreds of dollars in value music media player (iPod) will have such a success. Increasing competition on intelligent multimedia devices will be a huge benefit for the consumer which will take out less bucks from the pocket to buy a multimedia portable device. One main disadvantage of the full display phone is the lack of a real keyboard and converting users from a classic phone to such a technology where only one button exists physically might be an impediment for a normal user.

Combo news : High Technology section on iPhone’s page / iPhone gets FCC aproval

Friday, May 18th, 2007

I don’t really know if it was before but Apple has introduced a new section on iPhone’s presentation web page. Among the widescreen iPod, revolutionary phone and internet communicator there is a new section that presents the revolutionary technology found in the iPhone. On the page Apple states that the iphone is the most revolutionary user interface since the beginning of the mouse (also introduced very early on the market by Apple), a full QWERTY keyboard and the advantages of multi-touch. BGR tells us that the iPhone has got the FCC approval which may lower the impact that stroke Apple yesterday. If you haven’t heard, a hacked email sent to Apple employees mentioned the delay of iPhone and Leopard OS which made a huge impact on Apple’s stock price.

Nokia N95 - a tough competitor for the iPhone ?

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

Nokia N95After reading lots and lots of reviews and previous of this phone i’ve came to the conclusion that this phone has pretty much all the things that a power user might want. Announced in September 2006, the Nokia N95 is a quad band mobile device with download speed up to 10mbits thanks to HSDPA technology. With a large 2.6 inches screen in 16 million colors the N95 can easily show where the user is located on the world because it also has integrated GPS unlike the iPhone. Still, the Apple’s mobile device carries a 3.5 inches multi touch display that can make some potential buyers forget that it does not have GPS and neither HSDPA or 3G, just an EDGE connection. So…lets get back to the N95 features. 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, miniSD slot that can support cards up to 2GB, WiFi, dual slide design (on one side you get the key buttons and on the other the control buttons), TV out connection, FM radio, EDGE connection, 160 MB of internal memory, Symbian 9.1 operating system and with a weight of 120 grams which in my humble opinion isn’t very much given the fact that it carries so much technology. This phone trully seems to have everything that a user would want except a powerful touchscreen that iPhone will have. In conclusion, the only main technological differences between these phones are that the iPhone has an inovating and pretty big touchscreen interface while the N95 catches our eyes with the GPS system.
