iPhone might open new doors for mobile producers
Friday, May 18th, 2007The hype around iPhone might become the next wave for other mobile producers says an article on Reuters. Big mobile phone producers such as Nokia and Sony Ericsson might come with more interesting mobile phones after the iPhone. Less than a year ago the market was little prepared for all-in-one mobile phones. The trend in the last phones shows an increasing growth of the consumer’s appetite for more intelligent phones, with complex OS and big screen preferably with touch screen technology. With a price tag of $500 and $600 the iPhone seems to be a little bit expensive but nobody thought that a hundreds of dollars in value music media player (iPod) will have such a success. Increasing competition on intelligent multimedia devices will be a huge benefit for the consumer which will take out less bucks from the pocket to buy a multimedia portable device. One main disadvantage of the full display phone is the lack of a real keyboard and converting users from a classic phone to such a technology where only one button exists physically might be an impediment for a normal user.
