Happy N70 user

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Yup, i’ve changed my V360 from Moto with an N70 ivory pearl. I’m just beginning to explore the facilities offered by the Symbian OS and i hope to live in perfect harmony with the N70 just as i did with the V360.

Nokia N95 - a tough competitor for the iPhone ?

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

Nokia N95After reading lots and lots of reviews and previous of this phone i’ve came to the conclusion that this phone has pretty much all the things that a power user might want. Announced in September 2006, the Nokia N95 is a quad band mobile device with download speed up to 10mbits thanks to HSDPA technology. With a large 2.6 inches screen in 16 million colors the N95 can easily show where the user is located on the world because it also has integrated GPS unlike the iPhone. Still, the Apple’s mobile device carries a 3.5 inches multi touch display that can make some potential buyers forget that it does not have GPS and neither HSDPA or 3G, just an EDGE connection. So…lets get back to the N95 features. 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, miniSD slot that can support cards up to 2GB, WiFi, dual slide design (on one side you get the key buttons and on the other the control buttons), TV out connection, FM radio, EDGE connection, 160 MB of internal memory, Symbian 9.1 operating system and with a weight of 120 grams which in my humble opinion isn’t very much given the fact that it carries so much technology. This phone trully seems to have everything that a user would want except a powerful touchscreen that iPhone will have. In conclusion, the only main technological differences between these phones are that the iPhone has an inovating and pretty big touchscreen interface while the N95 catches our eyes with the GPS system.

Nokia N70 Assembling and Disassembling Tutorial Videos

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

Pretty interesting tutorials that show how to assemble and disassemble a Nokia N70 phone. Probably the video was made for chinese employers in one of Nokia’s 3 factories in China or probably for the korean employers because Nokia also owns a factory in Korea.

A really tough decision

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

I am planning to buy for me next week a new phone. My budget allows me to choose between the Nokia N70 and N90 and for the last several days i’ve searched more and more info about the phones so i can make a proper decision. I know, i know, they’re not the top N series phones but i like them very much and i can’t afford better phones.

The N70 is pretty much the same as the Nokia 6680. The main differences are a 2MP camera and an updated version of Symbian OS that N70 has. Pretty much a marketing scheme from Nokia but i just love the design of N70.

N90 is a really bulky phone and has no vibration but the most interesting thing i like about it is the huge resolution of the internal display : 352 x 416 pixels. Still, Nokia N90 has the same diagonal of the internal display as the N70, but the N70 has a display resolution of only 208 x 176. Another interesting thing about the N90 but still more for the marketing and publicity is represented by the Carl Zeiss lens that equip the camera of N90. The only difference that i’ve seen in reviews at the photo quality is that N90 does better Macro pictures.

Next week i’ll write another post about my first impressions either about N70 or N90.
